Round up of 2010

As the first proper year of Below The Fall comes to an end, we just thought it’d be nice to reflect on what has been a great time for us and look forward to bigger, better things next year.

Once Dan returned from his New Year trip to New Zealand we got down to business and started writing and practising hard, ready for our first recordings in April. We recorded at Studio 91 with Jordan Fish and couldn’t have been more pleased with how the two tracks came out. Chris of Witch Hunter Records was kind enough to lend us his support to the release, which helped us to receive some great reviews and we were honoured to join his ever expanding and diverse roster of bands.

We may have been a bit slow off the mark with the gigs, but we finally got going in October with our first gig at The 12 Bar in Swindon. It was great to see so many familiar faces there to support us. We followed this up with more gigs including a BBC Introducing show at The Oakford Social Club in Reading with our new friends Everyone Needs A Nemesis.

Our last news of the year, was when the talented Drew Casson asked to use our track, Commissioner, for his show reel video showcasing some of his best work of the last few years which has led to some new exposure for us. This hopefully won’t be the last time we work with Drew, so keep an eye out next year.

So, what else does next year hold? We’re planning more recording with a new release planned for Spring 2011, and more gigs both closer to home and hopefully spread our wings a little further with talk of some London gigs.

Thanks to everyone who has helped to make this year such fun for us… Chris at Witch Hunter Records, Jordan and Sam at Studio 91, Hoover for the EP artwork, Ant and Si for some cool photos, Drew for using our music and anyone else who has come to the gigs, written reviews, bought the CD or listened to our music. See you next year!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Drew Casson showreel featuring Commissioner

Check out this showreel by talented youngster Drew Casson featuring our track Commissioner. Very impressive stuff. We're honoured that he asked to use our song.
